Meeting with Archpriest Chad Hatfield in Bergen, Norway

Last week, at the invitation of the Annunciation of the Holy Virgin Mary Parish, Archpriest Chad Hatfield, President and Professor at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in New York, visited Bergen with a rich program of divine services and meetings, opening on December 5th at the NLA University College with a conference on “Mission and Evangelism – An Orthodox Perspective”.

The following day, on the Feast of St. Nicholas, Bishop Roald Nikolai and Fr. Olav Paulinus were invited to attend the Divine Liturgy. In the conversation after the celebration, where Fr Theodor and Fr Olav Paulinus also took part, Archpriest Chad and Bishop Roald Nikolai had informal and cordial talks not only about the current ecumenical challenges on both sides of the Atlantic, but also addressing the threat from the ongoing “culture war” and in particular the status of the family in present Western society.
